Icon Class Price Comparison — Which Ship is Right For Your Budget?

With Legend of the Seas launching summer 2026 and Hero of the Seas in 2027, I was curious which icon class ship offers the best value.

I decided to compare a similar embarkation date for each ship and see how much a person could save by booking the “oldest” icon ship, Icon of the Seas (debuted in January 2024) over, say, Legend of the Seas.

The results were Interesting.

What I Found Interesting

What I found really interesting is that the starting prices aren’t really that far apart for each of the Icon class ships.

I was suprised by this!

Sure, Legend of the Seas looks a bit high compared to the others, but remember it is sailing a longer length of time (8 nights) and a Southern Caribbean itinerary which tend to be a bit more expensive due to the travel distance and ports being visited anyways.

Can You Save a Lot of Money by Sailing on an “Older” Icon Class Ship?

I place the word older in quotes, because all of these ships are still new. Older is very, very relative.

At any rate, you can save a bit by sailing on Icon of the Seas, in this case, but in my opinion it’s nominal.

Royal Caribbean has really positioned these icon class ships well. You can choose based on your preferred departure port and itinerary and enjoy an icon class vacation at a similar price point.

Needless to say, that price point is dear to most folks, but my point is simply that if one is within your reach, all of them are. 🙂

The three largest cruise ports in Florida will each host an Icon Class Ship and Galveston, Texas will be graced with Icon of the Seas — the first ship in this class.
