Aldi Seasons Best Turrón (Blando + Cacahuete) — €1.99
It’s that time of the year when the grocery stores start getting in all the fun limited time products, so many interesting treats and appetizers that it becomes dangerous to let your eyes wander from your shopping list. ;p
We saw this turrón at Aldi in Portugal and wanted to try both varieties so we could see which one we liked better.

Season’s Best Turrón de Cacahuete (Torrão de Amendoim)
The first one we tried is a peanut turrón.

It’s wrapped in gold foil that reads “nougats” and “turrones” on repeat.

Texture & Taste Test:
The texture of the peanut turrón is very crunch and kind of hard to bite into, to be honest.
But once you’ve bit into it successfully without chipping a tooth, it has really nice toasted peanut flavor.

Season’s Best Turrón Blando (Turrão Macio)
This is the smooth, almond version we are more used to.

It comes in a clear plastic packaging and is classically kind of sloppy and oily to get into.

I guess people might put this whole bar out at a party or something and not have to keep getting in and out of the packaging, but we like to take little pieces at a time and not eat it at one time.

Texture & Taste Test
This is exactly what we were expecting, smooth and creamy, but somehow crumbly too and sort of oily while also being sweet.

Our Review — Worth Buying?
Would we rebuy Aldi Season’s Best Turrón again? Yes! These are a really delicious sweet treat.
We really like the almond one best for it’s classic taste and texture, but once you break off a piece of the peanut one, it is actually quite nice.
Interestingly, because it’s crunchy the peanut version somehow feels more healthy while you eat it, but it actually has a higher sugar content and does not have any dietary fiber like the almond one does.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think either of these are a health food ;p, but I do think it’s interesting to compare the ingredients and nutrition on similar products like this!
Rating: 4/4 Love it!
