Azucar Ice Cream — Little Havana
No trip to Miami is complete without a visit to Calle Ocho in Little Havana.

Here you will find a huge Cuban population and what comes with that is a taste of Cuban culture via Cuban restaurants, lively latin music playing in the streets, the smell of cafe Cubano lingering in the air while games of dominoes are being played.
Location
Azucar Address: 1503 SW 8th St, Miami, FL 33135
You’ll find Azucar nestled between the historic Tower Theater (directly across the street)

and the also historic Ball & Chain bar and lounge.

See how neighborly their neon signs are?

Visiting Azucar Ice Cream Company at night is fun because the streets are lively and everything is all lit up!

Let’s go inside, shall we? After all, homemade cuban ice cream awaits!

Azucar Ice Cream Menu with Prices

Did you know you can get half pints and full pints of Cuban ice cream from Azucar to go!?

Side Note: This is the ultimate to-do list, is it not?

Cuban Ice Cream Flavors in Little Havana, Miami
Sure they had some flavors for the masses, but check out some of the more unique and fun Cuba-inspired flavors: passionfruit sorbet, piña, torrone, flan caramelo, mulatida, cafe con leche, abuela Maria…

The flavors and descriptions are written right on the cooler. Feel free to tap an image to enlarge.

The number one best seller at Azucar in Miami is Abuela Maria Ice Cream — Guava, cream cheese, and Maria cookies.

The second most popular flavor is Cafe con Leche — Cuban coffee ice cream with Oreo.

What We Ordered
Cafe con Leche & Mamey — $6.75
I went for 2 scoops with very different flavor profiles.
The top scoop is Mamey ice cream. Mamey is a tropical fruit that is not readily available in the Northern US, so this was a treat. The flavor was so good and the ice cream was very creamy!

For the bottom scoop I went with cafe con leche. I love coffee ice cream and if I can get coffee ice cream and Oreos in one scoop it’s like adult me and child me are living our best life in one waffle cone!

Cuban Coffee
And although it was night time, we grabbed a little cafecito.

Our Review — Would We Go Back?
Si Si Si!!!
A visit to Azucar was such a spectacular experience for me. The ice cream was legitimately amazing and the Cuban flavors were next level.
I think about this Cuban Ice Cream shop on the regular and can’t wait until I can go back for another scoop or two. ;]

Definitely put Azucar on your Miami Ice Cream must-eat list.
