Burger Ranch — Portuguese Fast Food Restaurant

When in Portugal you will see some of the international fast food joints you’ve come to know and love:

You know, Mcdonald’s, KFC, Burger King, Taco Bell, Dominos, Pizza Hut.

Yes, love it or hate it, you can find them all in Portugal… depending, of course, on where you are at.

But if you’re looking to try a 100% Portuguese fast food restaurant, then you can visit Burger Ranch.

We have some friends who love this place when looking for a burger-fix, but we hadn’t tried it at all until one day we needed a sweet-salty satiation after running errands at the mall.

Burger Ranch Fries

Originally we were going just for an ice cream, but the idea of steaming hot, crispy, salty fries was too appealing to pass up on so we had to give the fries a try.

Unfortunately, we were a bit underwhelmed by them. They weren’t that crispy and they just tasted kind of … sad.

Given that we rarely order fast food French fries, it was definitely disappointing.

Burger Ranch Ice Cream

On the other hand, the ice cream absolutely hit the spot!

A classic soft serve in a cone is simple and just what you’re looking for sometimes.

If you need a caffeine boost, you can always get an affogato / cafe com gelado and that’s a great option as well!

Burger Ranch Review — Initial Impressions

While we were underwhelmed by the fries, we can definitely recommend grabbing a refreshing ice cream cone at your local Burger Ranch.

We still need to try their burgers to give a truly well rounded review, and if/when we do, we’ll be sure to update this Burger Ranch review.

We’d also like to give the french fries another chance because we know sometimes you just get an off day, the oil wasn’t hot enough or the fries had been sitting out, whatever the case.. maybe next time they’ll be the hot, salty, crunchy-fluffy experience we’re hoping for.
