We woke up to a view of a pirate ship and the famous Atlantis Paradise Island resort in the background.
View Of Nassau Cruise Port — Western Caribbean Itinerary
Docked beside us was Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas cruise ship.

This panoramic shot shows most of the (future, but now current) site of Royal Caribbean’s Royal Beach Club Paradise Island.

Historically this thin strip of beach was inhabited and long time cruisers will remember private homes along this strip.

Many of those homes were destroyed in a hurricane years back.

This land has now been developed into a private beach club for use by Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, and Silversea called Royal Beach Club Paradise Island which opened in December 2025.

Before leaving the ship for a day in port, we recommend checking your cruise app for contact information for the port agency in case of any emergency and taking a screenshot.

Free Room Service on Celebrity Ascent
We like to take advantage of the free continental breakfast room service on Celebrity Cruises, because who wouldn’t want to enjoy coffee and breakfast on a balcony with this view?!

Your breakfast delivery will come with a carafe for your coffee, and all dishes covered to keep things sanitary.

There was a selection of sugar and sugar-free sweetener packets, creamer and even a glass jar of jam for the croissants!

Celebrity was serving Marcel’s Modern Pantry milk boxes during our cruise.

Nassau Cruise Port

FYI It is illegal to fly a drone in Nassau Cruise Port without written authorization.

If you’re looking for wifi, you can find a Starbucks in Nassau within walking distance of the ship.

As well as plenty of international brands for shopping if that’s your thing.

You can also rent scooters and zip around the island.

You will also find some more local, but still semi-manufactured, souvenir shopping near by.

Before you get back on board, be sure to get some great ship pictures from outside. ;]

Whenever you’re done strolling around the port or coming back from your Nassau Shore Excursion, you’ll be welcomed at the ship with a refreshing cold towel and fruit-infused water.

This is always such a nice touch!
Lunch Onboard
Returning to the ship, you’ve probably worked up an appetite and a quick visit to the buffet can yield you something tasty, in my case incredible asian food and fresh cut fruit!

Or if you have more of a pizza craving….

Before sail-away be sure to take in some more of the picturesque views!

Main Dining Room Dinner Menus
Rather than one main dining room, Celebrity Edge Class ships have 4 restaurants (Tuscan, Cyprus, Normandie, Cosmopolitan) each with their own unique decor style.
Every night the menu changes as you’re used to on a cruise, but each of these restaurants have a handful of “Exclusive” items that they serve every single night as a speciality.
No matter which restaurant (dining room) you are in, you can order from the exclusives menu of the other menus, just so you know. ;]
So if you have an assigned dining time that you want to stick to so you know your table and waitstaff, don’t feel like you’re going to miss out on some special food from the other restaurants.

Even the public restrooms on Celebrity Ascent are beautiful and well thought out, I mean do you see that railed space behind the toilet where you can set your belongings!?

You always have cloth towels to dry your hands – que fancy, no?!

And occasionally some people leave their glasses behind *eyeroll*, but not to worry there is constantly crew in the bathrooms to keep it looking so incredible.
Bridges Show
We finally made it to the theater for the production “Bridges”, described as “a feel-good, uplifting celebration of human connection, set against the backdrop of some of the world’s most iconic bridges from London to Venice, New York, San Francisco, and Sydney…”

About this cruise:
On this 7 night Labadee & Cayman Cruise on Celebrity Ascent we sailed in an Infinite Veranda cabin. We visited the ports of Nassau, Perfect Day at Coco Cay, and Grand Cayman. Stops at Labadee were paused during this time period and exchanged for a Perfect Day visit.
