Described as “Vanilla flavor ice cream between layers of cookies with chocolate chips”, these ice cream sandwiches contain 2.6g of protein per sandwich. It’s not Skyr, but it’s not nothing. :p

I have high standards for chocolate chip cookies and naturally one lowers said standards for a store brand ice cream sandwich, yet I must admit I am immediately skeptical.

The cookie wookie presents with a bit of ice cream overhang and we can’t be mad about that. Ice cream overhang can be like a muffin top – the best part.

Problems With This Ice Cream Sandwich
- Cookie texture is not bueno. Crumbly and with very mediocre flavor.
- The cookie sticks to your fingers in a weird, uncomfortable way. Blech.
- Cookie-to-ice-cream ratio is off, especially given the mid-ness of the cookies themselves.
This last point is especially unfortunate because the ice cream actually had decent flavor and thanks to the aforementioned over-hang we could get a taste of it untainted by the crumbly blah-ness of the cookie. Sadly this element is completely lost because of how bad the cookie “bun” is. I hope Continente reworks this product.

Based on the box we bought, we’d say skip the Cookie Wookie at Continente. They have other ice cream products that are much better including this popcorn ice cream.
