Continente Ice Cream Review — Menta e Chocolate Flavor Taste Test
Continente grocery store in Portugal has it’s own brand of ice cream and there are sort of two categories. The standard has a flat lid and the domed lids give the impression of a superior quality ice cream.
The day had come to try Continente’s Mint Chocolate Gelado (Ice cream) and we went for the domed lid edition. (The chocolate swirl did me in!)

Expectation vs Reality
First Impressions: I’d say the expectation was realistic! The ice cream looks really creamy, has plenty of chocolate shavings on top, and you can see the chocolate sauce ribbons at every valley.

Continente Menta e Chocolate Ice Cream Review:
From the first scoop this ice cream is a winner. If you like mint ice cream, you’ll be happy to find this in your freezer. It is indeed very creamy while the mint flavor is extra refreshing on a hot day.
The chocolate ribbons really only run from the top down the sides, not throughout the center of the ice cream.
Still, I think the amount is acceptable!

The chocolate shavings are pretty, but I am always team chocolate swirl/chocolate sauce/fudge in ice cream as opposed to chewing bits of chocolate.
Migraine Tip: Are you prone to migraines in the heat? Some find eating cold foods can take the edge off. Cold ice cream combined with the cooling effect of mint may give you a blissful bit of relief from your summertime migraine. YMMV, but it’s worth a try isn’t it? 🙂
