Hero of the Seas Review — Deck 15 Layout

Deck 15 is going to be a great space to spend your day onboard Hero of the Seas.

The main pool deck area will be vibrant and fun with easy access to ice cream at Sprinkles, cocktails at The Lime and Coconut or Cantina Fresca and when you’re hungry casual dining is not far – head to El Loco Fresh or Windjammer Marketplace.

For a VIP feel, hang out with your cruise buddies in The Overlook Pods for a bit of privacy and incredible views.

The AquaTheater experience is now very much enhanced, in my opinion, with the addition of Rye & Bean where you can enjoy coffee and tea infused cocktails along side the buzz of the thrilling dive show.

Finally, if you want beach club vibes, visit the adult-only (okay Royal is calling 16+ adults here) Hideaway Neighborhood for the largest swim-up bar at sea, panoramic ocean views, hot tubs, and plenty of daybeds and chairs to lounge on.

Are There Staterooms Beneath the Pool Deck (deck 15) on Hero of the Seas?

Yes! Deck 14 is primarily cabins with the addition of Vitality Spa, To Dry For, and The Overlook.

Ships have come a long way with soundproofing etc, but If you prefer not to be directly below the highly trafficked pool deck or buffet on Hero of the Seas then you may wish to avoid a cabin on deck 14.

What is the Aqua Theater Show on Hero of the Seas?

Stay tuned! Full entertainment details are still rolling out for Hero, so we don’t know the name of the show just yet.

How Much Does the Aqua Theater Cost?

The AquaTheater is part of the free, included entertainment on your Royal Caribbean cruise!

Good To Know: Although the show is free, it is important to make a reservation via the Royal Caribbean App in advance to ensure you have a seat!

While it could differ based on ship and sailing, many have commented that they enjoyed lunch in the AquaDome on embarkation day and that it was a fantastic choice to start the cruise off!

Is Rye & Bean Free on Royal Caribbean?

Rye & Bean is not free. It is a specialty coffee venue as well as a bar featuring unique coffee-based cocktails and tea-based cocktails.

Most beverages will be included in your Royal Caribbean Drinks Package, though, should you purchase one.

Which Ships Have Rye & Bean?

Currently all Icon Class Ships have Rye & Bean.
Icon of the Seas, Star of the Seas, Legend of the Seas, and Hero of the Seas all have Rye & Bean.

Are The Overlook Pods Free?

Yes, the seating area on Royal Caribbean Ships called “The Overlook Pods” are free to use! These are elevated, semi-private lounge spaces which will be popular so snag them if you can as they are available on a first-come first-served basis.

Is Hooked Seafood Complimentary?

No. Hooked Seafood is a specialty dining venue on Royal Caribbean that has a cover charge. It is not included in your cruise fare.

How much is the Hooked Restaurant on Hero of the Seas?

Prices on sister ship Star of the Seas can give us an idea of what to expect on Hero. Dinner is $65 while lunch is $25.

Is Hooked good for seafood?

Yes! It’s a great specialty restaurant for seafood lovers. Highlights include oysters (raw or Rockefeller), clam and lump crab chowder, soft shell crab, and a 2 lb cold water Maine lobster. Corn cheddar biscuits also get high recommendations.

How much is Celebration Table on Hero of the Seas?

Prices for Celebration Table vary, but at around $1,000 per booking divided over 14 people (provided you have that many) that’s around $70 per person which really isn’t bad! But then again, not every one is traveling in a group of that size to make the split so ‘affordable’.

The menus are fixed, but based on cuisines like American, Asian, Italian, or Seafood.

The entire table eats the same cuisine and the event also includes family style dessert and a signature cocktail for each guest.

Who should book Celebration Table?

I think Celebration Table could be a great way to, well… celebrate 😂 a special occasion with your friends and family onboard.

For instance, an engagement, a special anniversary, a graduation — a few obviously choices.

This can also be great for incentive group travel or as part of a cruise business conference package.

Does Royal Caribbean have table tennis on Hero of the Seas?

Yes! Table tennis can be found on deck 15 forward/mid-forward.

Does Hero of the Seas have a ping pong table and paddles?

Yes! The ship always has some paddles and ping pong balls.

Butttt true enthusiasts always travel with their own ping pong paddles, don’t they? 😏

Over time the ship paddles can get a bit rough, but for the average cruiser they are perfectly acceptable for a fun back-and-forth with a cruise buddy.

What kind of cocktails does Lime and Coconut serve?
