Street Smash Burger Lisbon
On our last trip to Lisbon we were craving burgers something fierce.
The smash burger has been a culinary trend in recent years but honestly we have yet to have a solid one despite the concept definitely being full of potential.
Alvalade Street Smash Burger Menu with Prices
Street Smash Burgers is a chain with locations all around Europe and we stopped in at one of their Lisbon restaurants in the Alvalade neighborhood .
Side Note: If Alvalade sounds familiar to you that’s because it’s the same neck of the woods as one of the best pizzas in Lisbon, in our opinions.
How much are Street Smash Burgers?
Burgers at Street range from 9.9-11.9€ for the stand-alone burger.
If you want a combo (fries and a drink) you’re looking at 13.9-15.9€ at the time of our visit.

What food does Street Smash Burgers serve?
Do they serve anything besides burgers?
Yes. Not much, but yes.
- French Fries
- Sweet Potato Fries
- Truffle Fries
- Cerveja Street (Beer)
- Kombucha
- Cider
And you can have any burger made vegan or gluten free.
So yeah. It’s basically just what they say — a premium burger joint.

I’m not sure how often they sell out, but I like the idea.
Ingredients are fresh so they are limited. When the quality product is gone for the day, it’s gone.
The Vibe
Outside Street Smash Burger Alvalade
Address: Street Smash Burger Alvalade is located at
Rua Marquesa de Alorna 19C, 1700-037 Lisboa, Portugal

They have a handful of small tables outside and a few barstool seats at a tall counter facing the window — perfect for when you’re dining solo and content to watch the world stroll by Lisbon’s calçadas.

Inside
Inside has a very modern industrial feel with a narrow line up of concrete benches, metal tables and chairs.

The mirror at the end makes the space feel larger.
What We Ordered
Bacon Burger Combo
While we usually opt to try different things, we were both in the mood for bacon on our burger so we got this double cheeseburger with bacon smash burger combo.

The combo includes a side of fries and a beverage of your choice.

We ordered a classic coca-cola for one combo, and Street’s very own labeled cerveja (beer) for the other.
The Smash Burger
The smash burger is definitely winning at the Lacey Beef competition.

It’s a relatively simple burger topped with a slice of American cheese (lol), crispy bacon, diced onion, pickles, and “secret sauce” if you so choose.

I wanted you to live vicariously through this post, so imagine yourself taking a bite of this smash burger now!

And sure you can eat a burger upside-down. Why not?
The Fries
The fries at Street Smash Burger Lisbon are truly a cut above the rest.
See what I did there? =)

With your combo you can choose regular potato French fries or sweet potato fries.
I think it’s easy to see from this close up that these are nice and crispy french fries.
They almost have a very, very, very thin coat/batter or something they are tossed in before frying to give the and amazing crunch.

I personally loved the sweet potato fries, but would re-order either any time.
Street Cerveja
Street Smash Burgers has their own beer produced for them locally in Lisbon.

This Pilsner beer is 5% ABV and the ingredients are water, barley, malt, hops, and yeast.

The Portuguese at the top says “Cerveja artisanal feita junto com os nossos velhos amigos da Dois Corvos” or Artesanal beer made together with our old friends at Dois Corvos.
Anything cold and fizzy is a great pairing alongside a burger and we do enjoy trying a local brew.
Street Smash Burger Review — Alvalade Lisbon, Portugal
Street Smash Burger is a solid, good burger in Lisbon.
You can tell the ingredients are simple and high-quality. We really like that.
The cost for 2 combos (2 burgers with 2 cups of fries and 2 drinks) was €32.70. While we certainly enjoyed our burgers we felt a bit of a sting at the price point especially because there is the potential of walking away a little hungry.
On the other hand, the fries were truly outstanding on our visit. They were everything you want a French fry to be — Freshly fried, hot, crispy outside, soft potatoey inside, with just enough salt.
I would absolutely go directly to Street Smash Burger Alvalade to order just a cup of fries and leave one happy camper.

In the end, nothing especially stood out to us about the burger itself here. It was tasty, felt like a step above fast food burgers for sure, but nothing felt so memorable that we would have to run back here the next time we were in Lisbon seeing that there are countless restaurants and burger joints to try.
Except the fries. I would run back for those sweet potato fries. 100% ; )
It would be interesting to visit a Street Smash Burgers in Switzerland and Italy and see what the local offerings are and how they compare.
With growing locations in Portugal (and abroad), it’s no doubt that Street Smash Burgers is well loved by the masses, so give em’ a try and let us know what you think!
Is this Lisbon’s best burger?
